Channel Janitor is provided by RVDH Interim Management B.V., established in Veenendaal, the Netherlands (“we”, “us”), registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 95274545. You can reach us at info@kyc-checks.nl.
By installing or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you are installing on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms for that organisation.
Channel Janitor scans the public channels of your Slack workspace and identifies channels with no human activity for longer than a threshold you configure (90 days by default). Candidate channels are sent to you as a review queue in Telegram, one card per channel. You decide per channel whether to archive it or skip it. Every action is written to an append-only audit log.
These limits are built into the app, not merely policy:
conversations.archive. There is no code path that deletes a channel, a message or a
file.#general is never touched. Your workspace’s general channel is excluded
from the scan and can never become a candidate. Channels that are already archived are likewise
excluded.Approvals run through Telegram. A Telegram chat must be linked to your workspace for the review queue to be delivered; without a linked chat the app can detect stale channels but cannot ask you about them, so nothing will ever be archived. Approve and skip actions are accepted only from the linked chat.
Telegram is an independent third-party service with its own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for its availability.
Pro subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card details. Prices are stated exclusive of any taxes that may apply to you.
You can cancel at any time through the Stripe billing portal, reachable from the app’s dashboard. Cancelling stops future renewals; it takes effect at the end of your current paid period, so Pro functionality remains available until that period ends. When it does, your workspace returns to the Free plan and the app keeps working under the Free limits — cancelling does not require uninstalling, and does not un-archive anything you already archived.
We do not refund periods that have already been paid for, and cancelling mid-period does not produce a partial or pro-rated refund. Because access continues until the end of the period you paid for, you keep what you bought.
If you uninstall the app from Slack, your installation record is deleted, and that deletion cascades to all stored candidate channels, audit-log entries and Telegram connect tokens for your workspace. The full list is in the Privacy Policy under “Data retention and deletion”.
Use the app only on workspaces you are authorised to administer, and do not attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the service or to other customers’ data. We may suspend access where continued use would harm the service or other users.
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of delay. The app depends on third-party services — Slack, Telegram and Stripe — and on their availability and rate limits, which are outside our control.
You remain responsible for deciding which channels to archive. The staleness signal is a suggestion based on message timestamps; the decision, and its consequences for your workspace, are yours.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you actually paid us for the service in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of data, loss of profit, or business interruption.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Dutch law, including liability for intent or deliberate recklessness.
If these terms change, the updated version is published on this page with a new “last updated” date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless mandatory law designates another court.
